Advisor of the Year: Dr. Leslie Locklear
The Advisor of the Year award recognizes the outstanding service and leadership of a faculty or staff advisor or advisory council who has made a significant contribution to both the student members and the group as a whole. The nominee should demonstrate strong advising skills, show they are readily available to support students and take great strides to help the group's leaders develop.

Emerging Leader of the Year: Chantal Fountain
The Emerging Leader of the Year award is presented to one emerging student leader who provides exemplary service, commitment and who makes a meaningful contribution by initiating positive change on campus or within the Pembroke community. This person will motivate or empower other students to act, bring out the strengths and talents of individuals around them, exemplify integrity in all words and actions and demonstrate initiative by living and thinking in a state of possibility to challenge the present and enrich the future.

Outstanding Leader of the Year: Aspen Andersson
The Outstanding Leader of the Year award is presented to one student leader whose long-term dedication and commitment creates positive change within the UNCP community. The recipient shall be known for leading with purpose, being collaborative and creating positive change at UNCP.

Red-Tailed Hawk Organization of the Year: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Red-tailed hawks are known for their keen sight and slow, methodical wing beats during flight. An organization winning this award would show similar qualities with an adept ability in creating a shared vision and making purposeful progress toward this shared vision by providing quality programming that makes a lasting impact on campus.

Dr. Lisa Schaeffer Legacy Award: AKA-Skee Week
Dr. Lisa Schaeffer served the students of UNC Pembroke in many capacities for 36 years. She started her career in Admissions, moved to the Career Center and retired from UNCP as the Vice Chancellor of the Division of Student Affairs. The Dr. Lisa Schaeffer Legacy Award is presented to a recurring program or event, which will continue to make a lasting contribution for future Braves, and that embodies the mission and purpose of CEL and the University, encouraging students, faculty, staff and alumni to be responsibly connected to the UNCP community.

Chancellor's Cup: Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
The Chancellor’s Cup Award is awarded annually to one group whose activities and events are consistent with the mission and/or purpose of their group, the mission of the Office for Campus Engagement & Leadership and the overall mission of UNCP. The award recipient will be a group that has gone above and beyond to demonstrate their ability to embrace difference, adapt to change, think critically and communicate effectively both internally and externally to their group.

Order of Omega Chapter of the Year: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
The Order of Omega Chapter of the Year award is presented by the Alpha Alpha Iota Chapter of Order of Omega to one fraternity or sorority that is directly supported by the fraternity and sorority staff. A chapter nominated for this award should exhibit good academic achievement, show collaboration within the fraternity and sorority community and demonstrate service to the fraternity and sorority, UNCP and the greater Pembroke community.

James B. Chavis Student Center Employee(s) of the Year: Philip Revels & Gretchen Gillenwater
The mission of the Department of the James B. Chavis Student Center is to encourage and support the educational, social and cultural enrichment of students by creating an environment of opportunity for students, faculty, staff and our community. Providing a place and atmosphere to build community, create culture and develop character takes patience, skill, hard work, selflessness and most importantly-dependability. The recipients of the James B. Chavis Student Center Student Employee of the Year Award have demonstrated all of those attributes and more.

UNCP Serve Award: Armani Jones-Elliott
The UNCP Serve Award recognizes a student who actively seeks engagement using our online clearinghouse, UNCP Serve. More than just searching for volunteer events, this year's recipient has actively sought out opportunities to join efforts with their peers in creating a better campus and community for us all. Their willingness to take initiative in engaging with community partners, recording hours and being an advocate for service has been outstanding.

Legacy Award: Ranya Johnson
The Legacy Award recognizes a student who has created a legacy of service through their dedication, commitment and leadership in service. This year's recipient has served as the blueprint and role model in volunteerism and service. Their commitment to service outside their normal job duties sets the tone and challenges their peers to do the same. Their passion to be an advocate for students, staff, faculty and our community is evident in their work and their desire to always be first to serve.

Dr. Christie Poteet "Making a Difference" Service Award: Gabriel Merino
The Dr. Christie Poteet "Making a Difference" Service Award, in honor of Dr. Christie Poteet who established, served and guided the Office for Community and Civic Engagement for over 14 years is given to a student who truly goes above and beyond to change the lives of others. This year's recipient has shown initiative, paid it forward, built community and has done so since their first day on campus. This is CCE’s most prestigious student award and is presented to our most outstanding students.

The Community of the Year Award is given to a community that is clean, safe and conducive to the academic, social and personal growth and development of students.

New Resident Advisor of the Year is awarded to a new Resident Advisor who has shown outstanding leadership in community development, programming and their commitment to students living in our housing communities.

Resident Advisor of the Year is awarded to a Resident Advisor who has shown outstanding leadership in community development, programming and their commitment to students living in our housing communities.

RHA E-Board Member of the Year is designed to recognize an individual for their ongoing above-average contribution to RHA and our on-campus communities.

Outstanding Intern of the Year: Jordan Redmon
The Outstanding Intern of the Year Award is presented to a student intern who exceeded expectations, took ownership and initiative, grew as a professional and made an outstanding impact on their organization. The nominated Individual should demonstrate excellence in the requisite core competencies, including career and self-development, communication, critical thinking, equity and inclusion, leadership, professionalism, teamwork and technology. The nominee will have shown a preparedness for success in the workplace and lifelong career management.

The DEIB-IE Champions recognize students, student organizations, and campus & community partners who champion diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and inclusive excellence. The DEIB-IE Champion embody exemplary ally-ship for diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and social justice. The Champions accomplish this through advocacy, programming, collaboration and education that promotes intercultural competence and engagement as well as inclusive excellence at UNC Pembroke and/or in the community.

The Emerging New Professional Award is presented to a student who embodies the National Association for Campuses and Employers, or NACE, competencies for a career-ready workforce. The nominated individual should demonstrate excellence in the requisite core competencies, including career and self-development, communication, critical thinking, equity and inclusion, leadership, professionalism, teamwork and technology. Successful candidates will show a preparedness for success in the workplace and lifelong career management.

Brave Experience Student Ambassador: Eja Hagwood
The Brave Experience Student Ambassador Award is given to a student leader who clearly demonstrates excellence in all four domains of the Brave Experience: belonging, community, learning and well-being. This person’s work should support student development, learning and success through the implementation of engaging experiences, opportunities and initiatives that inform and promote leadership, active and responsible citizenship, career and academic exploration and safe and inclusive communities.

These activities encompass a wide range, from career fairs and workshops to presentations, networking events and consultations with Career Advisors.

The Outstanding Wellness Ambassador is awarded to someone who has consistently gone above and beyond, planning and attending events with a positive attitude that uplifts those around them. Their passion for educating peers about health and wellness makes a lasting impact, embodying the core values of being a Wellness Ambassador.

CAPS Outstanding Collegiate Recovery Coordinator and Prevention Specialist Excellence Award: Laurel Flom
The Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) is a supportive environment within the university that fosters the health and wellness of students recovering from a range of issues, including addiction, mental health conditions and other life challenges. The CAPS Outstanding Collegiate Recovery Coordinator and Prevention Specialist Award recognizes a student who has shown dedication to promoting recovery and prevention, demonstrating devotion and advocacy in creating a more supportive, engaged and compassionate environment for our students.

The CAPS Outstanding Graduate Assistant of the Year Award is presented to a graduate assistant who demonstrated excellence in their work. This individual has shown great resourcefulness and brings a client-focused, innovative approach to their everyday responsibilities while maintaining a positive energy.

LEADership Olympics First Place Winner: Black Student Union
The LEADership Olympics is a semester-long competition hosted by the LEAD Fellows. Over the course of the semester, student organizations compete as a team to accumulate points by attending a series of leadership workshops, participating in experiential learning activities, completing service projects and donating items to the CARE Resource Center.

The eSports Player of the Year award honors a UNC Pembroke gamer who showcases remarkable growth and improvement, strategic prowess and exceptional teamwork throughout the year.
