Graduate Certificate Programs

A Graduate Certificate program provides specific professional education in an area of study. A graduate certificate program may be gained as a stand-alone credential, in conjunction with or after a graduate degree is earned, or prior to and towards a master’s degree, depending on the program. Successful completion of a certificate is notated on one’s academic transcript. UNCP now offers two graduate certificate programs:

  • Advanced School Counseling for Postsecondary Success is a 12-credit hour certificate program available for current students enrolled in the Professional School Counseling (PSC) program as well as licensed school counselors who aim to obtain advanced training in school counseling. Contact Dr. Shenika Jones for additional information (shenika.jones@uncp.edu or 910.521.6354).
  • MSN Post-Master’s Certificate in Nursing Education is a 9-credit hour certificate required to teach nursing in the State of North Carolina. Contact Dr. Jennifer Twaddell for additional information (jennifer.twaddell@uncp.edu or 910.775.4142.
