William "bill" wendt, adjunct

BIO

Mr. Wendt received a BBA in accounting, cum laude from the University of Miami in 1954 and his Master's in economics from Purdue University in 1962.  He also complete all worked toward the PhD in economics with the exception of completing his dissertation.  He has taught as an adjunct at Johns Hopkins, Loyola College in Baltimore, Fairleigh Dickinson Univ in New jersey and Randolph CC, Montgomery CC, and UNC-Pembroke here in North Carolina.  In the early 1960's he was an Asst Professor of economics at The American University in Washington DC.

He has also been a senior VP in commercial real estate investments for The Travelers, The Prudential Insurance Co., and controller of The Rouse company in Columbia, Md.  He was also a programmer and systems analyst for Southern Railway, McCormick & Co. and The Rouse Company.

He has written a number of published papers on the commercial mortgage market in the U.S. and on Management and Reporting on real property investments Electronically.  He supplied a database of commercial building performance to UNC-Chapel Hill that eventually resulted in numerous papers and five PhD dissertations.  Finally, he was instrumental in the development of a Quality Rating system for the risk involved in Commercial Real Estate Mortgages.

Mr. Wend is now retired and lives with his wife in Pinehurst, NC and is currently an adjunct at UNCP
