the career Peers

The Career Peers are a bright and energetic group of students who serve as volunteer ambassadors for The Career Center.  They play an important role, serving as The Career Center's word-of-mouth marketing team. Members also assist with general office operation and special events. The Career Peers are broken into three teams: The Consulting Team, The Tech Team, and The Street Team:

Consulting Team

  • Assist staff with critiquing students' resumes and cover letters
  • Co-present workshops about The Career Center’s services in the classroom and for student organizations
  • Hold office hours in The Career Center during “Walk-in Wednesdays”

Tech Team

  • Connect with students on Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, and other social media sites
  • Create and write content for a Career Peer Blog
  • Film and post YouTube videos

Street Team

  • Create and post flyers that promote Career Center and Career Peer events
  • Brainstorm creative ways to market Career Center services
  • Announce Career Center events and programs in classes and in meetings

All Career Peers plan and assist with special events, network with employers, and assist peers with the career development process.
