E-mail Outage Update:
5 PM Friday

For students, the use of the new Bravemail student e-mail system continues to climb with nearly 3000 students initializing their new Bravemail account.  There are some concerns among students about the Webmail and their old messages.  Those services will return on line next week and the old emails, as things appear as of this time Friday, will be available. 

DoIT staff, with tremendous assistance from technology staff in various offices began implementation of Phase 2 of the Exchange rollout by going to offices and assisting users to enter the new Exchange information in Outlook or other email software.  Nearly 100 offices were visited and are now successfully using the new faculty and staff email system.  For Mac users, we are finalizing and testing procedures for Entourage, Mac Mail and other mail software.  We ask Mac users to continue to use the Webmail (OWA) at http://owa.uncp.edu/owa over the weekend.  Next week we will touch base to merge the old and new system on your e-mail software.

Once the old Webmail system is back online, faculty and staff who were not a part of Phase 2 on Friday should continue using the new WebMail (OWA) as new messages will be delivered to this location rather than the old system.
