Step-by-step: Updating Your system to Meet network Requirements

If any of the following requirements are not met, the computer will be granted temporary network access of 20 minutes to get the system up to date. After 20 minutes, the computer will be disconnected from the network. You will have to log in again to get additional access until the system meets all requirements.

1. Windows systems must have Cisco certified anti-virus software installed.   
2. Anti-virus software must be updated with the latest virus definitions.
3. Windows systems must be updated with the latest critical security updates and be configured to receive automatic updates.

System Requirements

If you see the following window when logging into Cisco NAC Agent, the computer does not meet all of the requirements. Click “Repair” and the next window will display information about the necessary update(s) needed to remediate the system.

 

Antivirus Software Requirement

If this window appears, you need to install Cisco supported antivirus software. By clicking on "Go To Link" you will be directed to the Microsoft Security Essentials download page (free for all students).

 

Antivirus Definitions Requirement

If this window appears, you need to update antivirus definitions by clicking on "Update."

 

Windows Critical Update Requirement

If this window appears, you need to install critical Windows updatesby clicking on "Go To Link."

 

Remediation may take several minutes and all buttons will remain grayed-out until it finishes.  You will have to go through this process for each requirement that hasn’t been met.

 

After all requirements are met, the following window will be displayed and you must “Accept” the Network Usage Policy. 

 

Then click “OK” to gain full network access.
