The Department of English and Theatre offers a Bachelor of Arts in English Education which qualifies graduates for “A” Licensure to teach English in grades nine through twelve in North Carolina. The department also offers a major in Middle Grades Language Arts, which qualifies graduates for "A" Licensure to teach Language Arts in grades six through nine in North Carolina. With requirements including literature, speech, and foreign language courses, core courses in professional studies, and content pedagogy, undergraduates are prepared to successfully enter the dynamic field of English education.
