Energy Efficiency Lighting Replacement
UNC-Pembroke has received an American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 Grant from the North Carolina State Energy office for the purpose of energy efficient replacement of lamps and ballasts on campus.
Project will consist of the following for the Proposal: Replacement of building interior and exterior lamps and ballasts and exit lights and replacement of campus exterior lamps with new energy efficient lamps, ballasts and exit lights as provided in a fixture list developed by UNC-Pembroke.
Existing building fixtures include T-12 fluorescent, halogen, HPS, metal halide and incandescent lamps and exit lights. Existing exterior fixtures include HPS and metal halide pole, roof and wall mounted lamps.
Wages submitted with Proposal must conform to the Davis-Bacon Act. Prevailing wage rates for Pembroke County can be found at www.wdol.gov/dba.aspx. Products used in the Proposal must conform to the ARRA Buy American Act provisions (manufactured in the USA). Additional information on the Buy American provision can be found at www.energync.net.
A mandatory Pre-Proposal Meeting will be held on campus on January 5th, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the office of the Director of Operations on Facilities Dr.
UNC-Pembroke has compiled a fixture count of the lamps to be changed, which shall be made available at the Pre-Proposal Meeting. The list shall contain suggested new lamps/ballasts. It shall be the sole responsibility of the Proposer to supply and install the appropriate lamps, lamp and ballast combinations, and exit lights in the Proposal.
There are approximately 1,075 interior and exit lights and approximately 650 exterior lights.
Proposals for total project cost shall be submitted to Larry Freeman, Director of Operations, 1 University Drive, Pembroke, NC, 28372 by 10:00 am January 11, 2011.
