East Carolina University (ECU) and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP) are collaborating on a doctoral program in Educational Leadership. There will be a K-12 concentration and an Adult and Higher Education concentration of the Educational Leadership degree program. The K-12 concentration is designed for students who have completed a degree in School Administration and who are currently working in an administrative role for a minimum of three years. This degree program leads to doctoral preparation work at upper district levels, or school principal levels. The Adult and Higher Education concentration is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a position within a community college or university setting and is connected to the administrative issues and student services in those settings. It is not designed for any K-12 advanced license.
Admission: Applications will be submitted to ECU's Graduate School, following standard ECU Graduate School and departmental practices and admissions decisions will be made by ECU.
Facilities: Face-to-face classes for the programs will meet at UNCP unless another appropriate location within the region offers a more convenient venue for students in a particular cohort.
