You might wonder how celebrities manage to look so amazing and glamorous. Most work out with personal trainers and some celebs maybe make a visit to the plastic surgeon. The majority of the celebrities out there diet. Here are some diets that some A-list celebs use themselves.

The South Beach Diet

Celebrities known to use the South Beach Diet: Bill and Hillary Clinton

The plan: This diet encourages you to choose the right carbs, such as whole grains and certain fruits and vegetables. Also, helps you to choose the right fats, such as olive and canola oil, and lean sources of protein.

Pros: This diet was originally for overweight heart patients. The patients experienced great weight loss and better health. The South Beach Diet is now one of the most popular diets. It is neither low-carb nor low-fat. The South Beach Diet Cookbook has over 200 recipes for you to enjoy all the kinds of foods you like.

Cons: The only thing is the potential food cost. If you check out the meal plan, you will see that some of the foods listed could get expensive. However, it does not have to be that way. It is possible to source the healthy foods required (lean proteins, quality carbs, etc.) while still on a budget.

The Zone Diet

The plan: An exact meal plan based upon each person's gender, activity level, and current percentage of body fat. It is designed to include 40 percent of its calories from carbohydrates, 30 percent from protein and 30 percent from fat. All meals and snacks follow this 40-30-30 distribution ratio, causing the body to work within its peak performance 'zone' for maximum energy and weight loss.

Pros: You will lose weight on this diet due to the very low calorie intake while you enjoy foods high in protein such as roast beef and steaks. Specific meal plans are available to guide you into the 'zone.'

Cons: The diet is very low in carbohydrates, which can quickly sap your energy levels. It is also low in fiber and some vitamins and minerals due to the drastic reduction of starches such as pasta, potatoes, and bread products. Figuring out how to make each meal and snack follow the 40-30-30 ratio can be overwhelming.

The Atkins Diet Celebrities known to use Atkins: Catherine Zeta-Jones, Calista Flockhart

The plan: This diet states that you can change your metabolism and lose weight easily, by eating foods high in protein and fat and limiting foods high in carbohydrate. Over-consumption of carbohydrates causes overproduction of insulin, Dr Atkins explains, leading to increased hunger and weight gain. Carbohydrates are limited to only 15 to 60 grams per day, while protein and fat are highly encouraged.

Pros: For people who have tried a low-fat, high-carbohydrate weight loss plan without success, increasing protein in their diet often results in decreased food cravings and rapid weight loss. This diet is easy to follow and there are no complicated meal plans.

Cons: Any diet that limits carbohydrates causes the body to rely on fat or muscle for energy, and may cause dehydration. When our body breaks down stored fat to supply energy, it creates a by-product called ketones. These by-products suppress appetite, yet they also cause fatigue and nausea. Eating unlimited amounts of fat, especially, saturated fat found in meat products, can lead to an increased risk of heart disease.

The Sugar Busters Diet

Celebrities known to use the Sugar Buster: Sharon Stone, Tori Spelling

The plan: According to Sugar Busters, refined sugar found in cakes, candies, and sodas as well as potatoes, white flour and pasta, is toxic. Eating these types of foods causes the body to produce increased amounts of the hormone insulin, which leads to increased amounts of body fat and weight.

Pros: Most people consume too much sugar, and decreased reliance on refined foods is a goal of many health organizations. The diet gives clear guidelines on which foods to avoid.

Cons: There is no scientific justification that healthy people who eat foods high in sugar will automatically gain weight.
