Canadas at Home: Family

We keep falling in love.

It started at Indiana University, where we fell in love with each other. Lisa was an English major from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and I was an English and journalism major from Indianapolis. We met at Read Residence Hall, where we were both resident assistants. After marrying in 1989, we spent the next three years working in Indiana, Lisa in public relations and I in journalism.

Next, we came south and fell in love with North Carolina. After I finished graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1997, I became an English professor at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and we moved into our first home in Laurinburg, North Carolina.

In 1998, we fell in love again, this time with our new daughter, Esprit, who taught us both a new kind of affection.

From time to time, we record special moments from our life together, and we post our accounts and pictures here so that we can share them with our families and friends.
