The Junto

The Junto, a small group of University of North Carolina graduate students, meets weekly to discuss American literature and culture. Named after a philanthropic organization founded by Benjamin Franklin in 1727, the Junto gives five Ph.D. students of early American literature a chance to share notes and books, try out opinions on one another, and simply enjoy rich discussions of words in America. We welcome visitors to this Web site, which includes a list of our members, a schedule of upcoming meetings, and notes from previous meetings.

Roster

In the interest of keeping discussions manageable, we have kept the number of Junto members at five. However, we welcome guests at our discussions and ask only that prospective visitors alert us at least two days before an upcoming meeting. Send e-mail to Mark Canada at canada@email.unc.edu. To see a list of our members, along with their areas of interest, see Junto members.
