In this paper you will be required to watch a movie and explore the social psychological concepts you see in it.

The papers should include:

• a brief summary of the movie plot
  • This should be no more than a page of your paper (and most likely less than a page)
• a discussion of 3-4 social psychological concepts presented in the movie
  • Introduce each concept and define it. Be sure that you are choosing social psychological concepts from your book and lecture.
  • Following each definition explore how a scene or incident in the movie is a good example of that concept. You may find it useful to imagine that you are lecturing on that concept and must use a scene from the movie as a good example of the concept.

Follow the paper guidelines on the syllabus

The paper will be worth 100 points and should be done independently; do not work on your papers in a group (or in a couple). Points will be allocated for content, grammar, and adherence to the typing guidelines. Typing guidelines: 1” margins on all 4 sides, 12 pt times font [like this syllabus], double spaced, no less than 3 pages and no more than 4 pages long­ – put your name, date, and course on a cover sheet and just staple the pages together (don't put the paper in a folder or protector). You may email the paper to me, use the emailing guidelines from your syllabus. Remember if you email me the paper, be sure to put a hard copy in my mailbox the next time you are on campus.

Be sure to pick a movie that you know will have Social Psychological concepts in it. Avoid movies that are about psychological disorders, counseling issues, or are just too abstract to be able to apply to every day behavior.
