Description
A critical study of current issues, trends, and the design and evaluation of curriculum in mathematics education.

Goals
Strengthen student's knowledge and understanding of current issues in curriculum development and assessment.

Grading Policy
As outlined in the UNCP Graduate Student Handbook:
A grade of "A" will be given for superior performance, going beyond normal expectations.
A grade of "B" will be given for satisfactory performance, what is normally expected.
A grade of "C" will be given for performance below the expectation of a graduate student.
A grade of "F" will be given for unsatifactory performance, and the student is ineligible to continue graduate studies at UNCP.

Attendance Policy
Attendance will be taken and it is very important because it is part of your grade for this course. Therefore, poor attendance will lower grades. To further encourage attendance, quizzes will be given unannounced. Students are responsible for all material covered even if a class is missed.

Homework
You will research the topics list you received and prepare to discuss each topic in class as a major part of your course grade.

Presentations
You will be required to give an oral presentation of a topic chosen from the list to the rest of the class.

Quizzes
There will be quizzes given during the semester as part of your class participation grade. No make-up quizzes will be given.
