Description
The course covers the goals
of DBMS including data independence, relationships, logical and physical
organizations, schema, and subschema. Hierarchical, network, and relational
models are covered with an emphasis on the relational model. Small SQL queries
are created and examined.

Exams
and Homework
The
final exam is comprehensive. Other than the final, one midterm exam will be
given during the class hours. Homework problems will be assigned. All
assignments must be completed by the due date. Late homework will not be accepted!! Homework assignments are individual
assignments, but I encourage you to work in groups. However, each student is expected to turn in
their own individual work.

are responsible for all material covered in class even if you are absent. The
final grade will be a weighted average of the tests, homework, and the final
exam scores.
