|UNCP Web Migration

UNC Pembroke is in search of several Web Content Migration Specialists (WCMS) to assist
with the migration of HTML/Dreamweaver websites into the Drupal content management system.
This is a one-month contract in-house project at 20-30 hours per week. Candidates who
are computer/tech savvy and who have experience working within any content management
systems (CMS) are encouraged to apply.
WCMS' will transfer thousands of pages of web content from static web pages to the Drupal CMS. This project is slated to run for approximately one month, starting the third week of January 2014.
Day-to-day responsibilities include the migration of website content and related tasks including cutting and pasting content, which includes text, images, Word, Excel and PDF documents. Light editing of the content may also be part of the project. Some training will be provided on Drupal, Dreamweaver and Photoshop but successful candidates will have working knowledge of these programs.
WCMS' will be managed by the University Web Publisher in the Office of University Communications and Marketing.
|Fidelity Investments||Fidelity Investments' Leap Program
Fidelity Investments is looking for computer science or information technology graduates who are interested in working as software developers or system analysts who are graduating in fall 2013 or spring 2014. Graduates would enter the Leap Program, Fidelity Investments' exciting training and development program for new IT graduates. The program is designed to accelerate the development of recent IT graduates to become best-in-class IT professionals. Participants in Leap will experience an enriched on-boarding process followed by specific technology, business and professional skills training. The training promises to challenge and excite participants with responsibility and visibility. Upon completion of the program, participants are placed in dynamic, full-time roles across Fidelity's diverse technology organization. medium size businesses in the area. Work could range from software development and maintenance,
to web site design and implementation as well as ecommerce web sites, to hardware maintenance|
Specific opportunities available now:
|SBTDC||Web site analysis: Use commercial tool to analyze existing web sites to determine quality characteristics of web sites. Work for the Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC). Training will be provided. No pay. Three hours credit for advanced courses. Starting spring 2014, possibly December.|
|Pinehurst Resort||Hardware maintenance: Work for Pinehurst Resort (http://www.pinehurst.com/) in Pinehurst, NC to maintain their local area network, telephone system, and network security. Paid. Twenty hours per week. Must commit to 12 month contract. Training provided. Required to be available for U. S. Open golf tournament June 9 - 20, 2014. Starting January 2014.|
|Dial Insurance||Information Web Site: Design and implement an information web site for Dial Insurance, Pembroke, NC. Paid. Starting spring semester 2014.|
|Stockclass Uniforms||Electronic Commerce Web Site: Stockclass Uniforms (http://stockclassuniforms.com) in Shannon, NC, would like an electronic commerce web site to sell uniforms. The internship would be in spring semester, work would start as soon as possible.|

to identify student capabilities to support small businesses with computer and information
