RESEARCH INTERESTS:
As a biochemist, my research interest include a variety of topics -- protein/protein interactions, protein signalling,
health issues of Native Americans, and science education among K-12.
Currently at UNCP, our laboratory has begun a pilot study of isozymes found in a local evergreen shrub called Chrysoma pauciflosculosa.These plants are rare to the area, yet there are two populations found growing near the
UNCP campus. No published information on isozyme studies or population genetics exists for this species. Two undergraduate
students are developing protocols to examine several isozymes of these populations for comparison between sites
and within each population.
