Making New Friends at UNCPKnown for its dedicated faculty, its personal approach to learning, its history as one of America's most diverse and inclusive universities - as well as its beautiful campus, comfortable climate and warm and welcoming atmosphere - UNCP is the perfect home for any international student seeking an enriching American academic experience. UNCP will give the tools you need to succeed, and International Programs will give you all the support that you might require in order to achieve that success.

J-1 students are categorized as individuals entering the United States with the sole intention of pursuing a full course of study and participating in the "Exchange Visitor Program" administered by the U.S. government's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Under the J-1, students generally spend one or more years at UNCP, or (alternatively) may be here for as little as one semester as a study abroad participant.
