INTERNATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE

 

UNC Pembroke requires a mandatory health insurance policy for incoming students. Yes, we understand you may be able to obtain an insurance policy in your home country that is cheaper and that it may cover a greater number of incidentals, such as travel insurance, but your policy cannot overcome a general reluctance of health care providers to accept foreign insurance.

 

The State of North Carolina Department of Insurance has worked with the UNC system to provide you the most affordable and comprehensive health coverage available.

 

This insurance will cover you throughout the US and all other countries with the exception of you home country.

 

For more information about the insurer, see www.studentinsurance.com. You will need information from your insurance identification card in order to see information that applies to you and your UNC policy with Pearce & Pearce.
