The Financial Aid Office at UNC Pembroke will host a FAFSA on Wheels event at the Lumberton downtown plaza on December 16.

The McKenzie-Elliott School of Nursing mobile unit will be parked at the plaza from noon to 3 p.m. It is open to the public.

Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can be a barrier for individuals interested in entering or returning to college. The FAFSA on Wheels event is part of the university’s effort to simplify the application process and make such resources accessible to the community.

Plans are to hold similar events in various communities across the county. Participants are asked to bring a copy of their 2021 tax transcript or 1040 tax returns. Students under 24 years of age will need to bring a parent and their tax information as well. Please consider creating your FSA ID at www.studentaid.gov prior to the event.
