Chancellor Allen C. Meadors offers these thoughts:

"The nation and the university community is saddened by the loss of so many lives in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the victims, the wounded and their families. This is truly a tragic moment in our nation's history. It is a time to mourn our dead, nurse the wounded and support those in need. Our prayers are with them."

It's official! Enrollment at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke has broken all-time enrollment records in consecutive years.

Total enrollment for the fall semester is 3,932, up 15.6 percent over last year and up 32 percent in two years.

Freshmen weighed in at the high end of early estimates with 700, up 21 percent Fall 2001 freshman enrollment compares with 579 last year, which was also a record.

Just two years ago, UNCP enrollment was 2,986 and had remained
