2011 summer family orientation

Welcome! Through participation in Family Orientation, you will have the opportunity to help your family member get the best start possible as a student at UNCP. We are highly committed to student success, but there is a very important supporting role you play in this success. Please accept this as a personal invitation to attend Family Orientation. We have a program designed to meet the needs of parents of first-time freshmen and non-traditional freshmen. Family orientation sessions will be scheduled concurrently with the New Student Orientation sessions for students. Students registering for classes on August 13, 2011 must pay all costs by 5:00 pm on August 13, 2011.

Great care has gone into planning a program that will allow you a chance to get your questions answered. Join us for one of the Family Orientation sessions this summer. If you have any questions, you may contact us at orientation@uncp.edu or at 800.949.UNCP. UNCP is a wonderful place to learn and grow.

Step1
Family members are automatically registered to attend a family orientation session when their student registers for the session online. Your student can find additional information by visiting the New Student Orientation web site at http://www.uncp.edu/orientation/.

  • Be Advised: Registered students taking six (6) or more credit hours are required to purchase the Student Health Insurance Plan, with the following exceptions:  distance education students (students taking off campus and Internet only courses) and students who submit evidence of equivalent coverage satisfactory to the policyholder may waive coverage.  Visit www.studentinsurance.com to waive out of the University sponsored plan.  Waiver deadlines vary each semester. If you do not complete the waiver procedure, you will be enrolled in the student insurance and be expected to pay the premium associated with the insurance policy.
