It is the policy of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke that, as a condition of employment, all employees shall be required to enroll in the direct deposit feature within thirty (30) days of hire or rehire.
Direct Deposit is the electronic deposit of funds into a bank account as a form of payment; it is safe, confidential and convenient. The University offers direct deposit of an employee’s net pay to a financial institution in the United States in accordance with 13 NCAC 12.0309, Form of Payment of Wages.

Federal Work-Study Participants Only
Work-Study students are not automatically enrolled in the University's Direct Deposit program, but are encouraged to receive their pay by direct deposit. To enroll in the Direct Deposit Program, you will need to complete the Direct Deposit Enrollment/Change Form (requires Microsoft Excel). Please submit the completed form to the Payroll Office in Lumbee Hall, room 151.
If a bank rejects a Direct Deposit transaction because of a closed account or incorrect account information, then a manual check may be issued, but ONLY after the money has been returned the University. The return transaction can take up to seven to fourteen (7 to 14) business days to process.
