Crime Report

Injury to personal property

(Nov. 12)- The owner of a portable toilet located in a construction site on campus called Campus Police in reference to her portable toilet being crushed. The foreman of the construction site advised that a backhoe, which was used to crush the portable toilet, had been moved and is currently stuck in a ditch. The estimated damage to the portable toilet is $500. The case is pending further investigation.

Vandalism

(Nov. 12)- The fire alarm on the fourth floor in Pine Hall was activated. The alarm was activated due to the discharging of a fire extinguisher. Windows in the second and third floor study room had been broken out. On Nov. 15, two males were charged on a state citation for damages to real property and giving a false alarm of fire by means of blowing smoke into a smoke detector knowing at the time no fire existed.

Controlled Substance Violation

(Nov. 24)- A strong odor of marijuana was detected from a room in West Hall. Officers noticed that the smoke detector was covered with a plastic bag. Officers confiscated a marijuana pipe and a water bong as evidence. Two female residents were charged on a campus level with controlled substance violation. Two other residents were charged on a campus level with tampering with fire equipment and controlled substance violation.

Underage Consumption

(Nov. 17)- Two females that were attending a basketball game were found to be extremely intoxicated. One student was charged on a campus level for underage consumption. The other student was charged on a campus level for failure to comply with a university official, being intoxicated and disruptive,.and underage consumption of alcohol.

Larceny/Possession of Stolen Property

(Nov. 13/18)- A student reported that her bookbag was stolen from a classroom in D.F. Lowry. The bookbag contained two textbooks, two notebooks and two calculators. Ten minutes after the bookbag was reported stolen, the suspect sold one of the stolen books to the campus bookstore. The suspect was charged on a state citation for possession of stolen property.
