An adaptation
of Mark Twain’s classic novel “The Adventures of Tom
Sawyer” is coming to GPAC April 5 at 10 a.m.
With a running
time of 60 minutes, the musical will be based on the original work,
featuring the stories of the Whitewashed Fence, the Neighborhood
Bully, and the Dead Cat.
Produced by
Mainstage Productions and performed by the Seem-To-Be Players, the
show will bring to life Tom Sawyer for second through eighth graders
and their families who will be coming on a field trip.
Show director
Ric Averill is expected to add creative sets and picturesque costumes
to have the tales of a young hero come alive.
This show will
be the last for GPAC’s “On Stage for Youth Series”
until next fall.
Executive Director
Patricia Fields said, “We are looking forward to it; this
is the first year having the play at GPAC.”
Schools from
counties all over North Carolina have already reserved 1200 seats
to view the show.
The turn out
is expected to be good and is also open to the public. Tickets are
$8 for adults and $7 for students. One hour before the performance,
tickets drop to $3. |
