Larceny
March 23-A UNCP
employee notified Campus Police that 60 sections of sunscreen louvers,
which had been stored at the north end of campus, are missing. The
louvers have a total value of $3500.
Common
Law Robbery
March 27-Officers
received a call about an armed robbery that just occured at Wellons
Hall. The victim said he was lying in bed when the suspects knocked
on the door. The victim opened the door without checking to see
who was there. At that time, four suspects entered the room and
stole $300 in cash and $300 in marijuana.
Possession of Marijuana
March 27-The
student who reported $300 of marijuana stolen from his room was
charged on a state level for controlled substance violation after
the student admitted to having marijuana in his room and that it
was his property.
Hit
and Run
March 28-When
an officer attempted to make a truck driving in Lot 24 stop, the
truck accelerated. When the suspect’s vehicle turned off onto
another road, the officer saw the passenger side door of the vehicle
open and the truck lift off of the ground. When the officer turned
onto the road, the officer noticed a man lying on the road with
blood pouring from the head. This case is under investigation.
Visitation
Violation
April 1-Officers
received a call in reference to a student needing his dorm room
door unlocked. When the officer arrived, the door was unlocked and
a female student was in the room after visitation hours. The female
had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her. She was charged on
a campus citation for for visitation violation and public consumption/display
of alcohol.
