Resume Day may help start your career

By Temika Bobbit

For many students, graduation is right around the corner. When looking for a job, a presentable resume is key.

Like many other things the Career Services Center offers, building your resume will help you to begin or better your career.

It is never too early to begin working on your resume. On Feb. 4 Lori Bumgarner, the assistant director of Career Services, will host a two-part Resume Day in the U.C.

A Resume Bar will take place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The Resume Bar is open to all students who wish to bring in their resumes for suggested improvements. Appointments are not necessary.

The second part of the Resume Day will be A Resume Makeover Story beginning at 3:30 p.m. in room 210, also in the U.C. This will be a seminar about how to work on building a current resume for jobs and internships. It will also include the different types of resumes, the do’s and dont’s, and what to include in your resume.

Students are also encouraged to take advantage of the other events offered every Wednesday by the Career Services Center.
