Bruce Bruce is back in GPAC

He’s back
again.
That’s
right, comedian Bruce Bruce will be here for your entertainment
pleasure Feb. 22 in GPAC at 8 p.m.
This will be
Bruce Bruce’s second appearance at the University’s
homecoming. Some of you may remember him as the host of Comic View,
a BET comedy show. The first time he performed at UNCP in 2002,
he was such a success the CAB invited the comedian back again.
In the fall
semester, CAB and SGA conducted surveys to ask students what comedian
they wanted for this year’s Homecoming. Of the names students
suggested, a list of 10 of the most popular comedians was compiled
and students voted again. The results showed most students wanted
to bring Bruce Bruce back.
“Bruce
Bruce’s show in 2002 was a sell out. We had all the seats
filled and some people standing up,” said James Bass, assistant
director of Student Activities. “ In fact, the Homecoming
Comedy Show sells out every year, whether it’s Dave Chappelle,
D.L. Hughley or Bruce Bruce. The Homecoming Comedy Show is a guaranteed
good time, and no one wants to miss it.”
The opening
act will be comedian Kevin Hart, who had a small role in “Scary
Movie 3” and has a sitcom called “The Big House”
coming out.
The price of
tickets will be $5 for students and $15 for the general public,
so buy your tickets soon or you’ll miss out. This program
is for mature audiences, and may contain explicit material.
