The Sampson-Livermore
Library announced Feb. 2, that it now has four laptop computers
connected to the network for current UNCP students, faculty and
staff to check out for use inside the library.
As part of the
wireless laptop pilot project, computers may be checked out for
two hours at a time from the Circulation Desk and a Laptop Computer
Loan Agreement must be signed. The computers may be renewed after
the allotted time if availability allows. Late returns will be charged
a rental fee.
Windows 2000
and wireless network cards come with each of the computers.
Systems Librarian
Cindy Saylor said she was very excited about the new program.
“I’m
really looking forward to seeing the response to the pilot project
going on now and anticipating a huge success,” Saylor said.
The library
hopes to raise the number of computers next fall to 20. |
