APPLE Corps teaches health awareness

By Krista Jordan
Staff Writer

UNCP is getting ready for a lesson in awareness.

Apple Corps, which is an organization formed to educate about health awareness, is having a South of the Border Party on Sept. 19 at 10 p.m.

The President of Apple Corps, Carrie Preston said: “Apple Corps is about educating people to take care of themselves. We encourage drinking but in moderation - under 21, it’s illegal.”

Apple Corps is also having a sexual education workshop called “Sex in the Lounge.”

“Sex in the Lounge” is a question and answer meeting about sex, which will take place in the near future.

Parents will also have a special day to party with their young adults in college on October 3 at 10 p.m.

Apple Corps is also looking for new members to lookout and help out students.

Students should attend these events to become aware of sexual risks. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these wonderful activities.
