Creative production is a hit

With three shows
that have aired to date, “Unleashed” has quickly become
a hit television show on WNCP-TV.
“Unleashed”
is the creative genius of the co-producer and director of the show,
Dart McAdoo, and the co-producer and host, Gary Rogers.
The show first aired in November 2004 showcasing the musical talent
of Nathan Davis from Southern Pines, N.C. Since the show’s
start, its producers have prided themselves in modeling the show
after MTV’s “Unplugged” where bands perform live
and answer questions about their music.
“We try to find bands that are diverse in their sound,”
McAdoo said. “People should come to the show and watch on
television because the bands coming to our show are on the verge
of superstardom and many of them are about to get signed by record
labels.”
McAdoo said the idea for the show came about because of a class
assignment for a broadcasting class; he got Nathan Davis to help
him with the show by being the first guest and he recruited Rogers
as the show’s host.
“We have done three shows so far and a lot of people are seeing
it and talking about it,” McAdoo said. “It is one of
the few successful shows that have been done regularly at UNCP besides
the news show.”
Rogers and McAdoo said that they would love for a major network
to pick up the show or at the very least see the show and give both
of them jobs.
They also want “Unleashed” to benefit the bands that
perform live by increasing their fan base.
“Unleashed” has five bands scheduled for the Spring
of 2005. |
