If your weeknights
on campus have consisted of either nothing or Procrastination-101,
then plan on an evening for “the best in college entertainment”
as described by CBS radio anchor,
John Desanto. The Flying
Cat Circus debuts at UNCP on Oct. 20 at 8:30 p.m. in the U.C.
A
revolutionary performance, The Flying Cat Circus brings to the stage
an impressive blend of pure comedy and bold stunts such as fire
eating and sword swallowing.
This form of
entertainment has roots and uniqueness; The Flying Cat Circus seizes
an era known as Vaudeville, where performers, magicians and comedians
emerged as one in live entertainment.
The duo behind
the engaging show, Thom Britain and Kevin Lepine, are veterans in
the realm of entertainment, showcasing their implausible acts on
MTV, Discovery
Channel and Fox Network.
We’ve
all seen the proverbial acts of jugglers with jokes, but these guys
are far from this stereotype. Both performers understand and acknowledge
that upon arrival at a university, they are entertaining an audience
of higher education; that’s why a promise is made for a show
of genuine comedy and crude intellect guaranteeing you to become
awe-inspired rather than inspired to yawn.
“We are
not juggling while telling jokes,” Britain makes clear. “We
are telling jokes and just happen to be juggling.”
