‘The Aurochs’ extends deadline
one week
By Mark
Schulman
Campus Life Editor
The UNCP student
magazine “The Aurochs” will be extending its deadline
for submissions to Dec. 1.
The magazine
accepts poetry, fiction prose and art. Concerning art, everything
from photography to digital and more traditional fine arts is accepted.
“We are
encouraging everyone to get involved and get published,” Editor
Nathan Graham said. “If you have old poems, short stories
or artwork sitting around, we want them.”
This will be
the fifth issue of the magazine and has gone through many transformations
over its lifetime. Last year, “The Aurochs” included
fiction for the first time and accepted more artwork and poetry
doubling the content of the publication. Also presented last year
for the first time was a full-color cover created by a student.
There are openings
this spring for “The Aurochs” publication course where
students learn page layout and editing.
Submission Guidelines
for “The Aurochs”:
-Microsoft Word documents for poetry, fiction and personal statement
for “Contributors Notes” section
-TIFF files for artwork should be 300 dpi minimum, vertically oriented
and submitted in both grayscale and full color.
