According to the University Crime Report, multiple hit and runs have been reported recently.
On Sept. 28, a student in Lot 24 advised campus police that someone had hit their vehicle. Then again on Oct. 1, a different student in Lot 26 encountered the same problem. On both incidents, the officer on duty spoke to the complainants and reports were filed.
On the night of Sept. 29, officers were informed that vehicles in Lot 13 needed to be moved to Lot 24 because of the excessive rainfall that resulted in on-campus flooding. The vehicles were to be moved to Lot 24. Residential advisors and supervisors informed as many students as they could.
Sometime during parents' weekend, Oct. 2 and 3, a student in Oak Hall reported being assaulted by another student. The following day, the assaulted student's father contacted campus police for further information about the conflict. An officer responded and talked to the student's father until the situation was resolved.
Late on the night of Oct. 5, a student called campus police about an armed robbery in progress at the ATM located behind the University Center.
A total of five officers responded to the scene and were able to pick up one of the perpetrators and their vehicle.
However, the other subject involved in the robbery got away. The student stated that a male subject approached and asked about buying some rims. The suspect then pulled a gun and ordered the student to give him money. Officers are still looking for the second subject.
Between Oct. 8 and Oct. 9 three different incidents of damage to state property on campus occured. An exit sign located on the second floor of Oak Hall was ripped from the ceiling by someone.
During a dance in the UC Annex someone damaged five different stalls in the men's bathroom. Also, a brick fence surrounding an electrical box in front of Wellons Hall was damaged by the bricks being pushed over.
