Injuries, fights, fires keep police busy

According to the University Crime Report, a student arrived at the police station on Sept. 14 seeking help for mental issues. Officers on site spoke to the student and transported the student to Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
It was approaching midnight on Sept. 15 when the Pembroke Police Department called campus police for assistance on Lot 2 near the side of the railroad. Subjects were on 4-wheelers and there were multiple injuries. Officers responded the injured were transported to the hospital.
Early on the morning of Sept. 17 around 2 a.m. Pembroke PD also requested the help of campus police to break up a fight. The fight was located just off-campus but with the help of campus officers, the fight was able to be broken up.
Late that night at approximately 1:30 a.m., campus security were advised of several students swimming in the water feature between North and Belk Hall. By the time officers arrived on site, they were unable to locate the students.
On the evening of Sept. 22, a fire was reported in the mulch area next to Faculty Row. Officers responded and extinguished the fire before it was able to spread any further.
Later on that night, officers were contacted about a mysterious person lurking in the quad area outside Belk Hall wearing a mask. Officers were unable to locate any such person when they arrived on scene.
Approximately 1 a.m. on Sept. 24, a student called about a group of fellow students being intoxicated in front of Taco Bell. When officers responded to hand out citations, the group had already left the area.
A student passed out on the first floor of Oak Hall. Many were called to the scene, including an officer, a nurse, and EMS. It was determined that it was in the students best interested to be treated at a hospital and was then transported to Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
