On Saturday November 18th, 12 students and 11 faculty mentors represented UNCP at the State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS) held on the campus of NCSU in Raleigh. Our students accounted for 5.8% of the total presenters at the meeting. Professors Paul Van Zandt, Art Department, and Lee Phillips, Associate Director of the Pembroke Undergraduate Research Center (PURC) also attended the meeting. Please congratulate our students and faculty mentors for taking the time to engage in extracurricular scholarly and artistic expressions.
The 2nd annual meeting SNCURCS was a statewide showcase of student discovery, creativity, and inquiry-based scholarship and entrepreneurial talents of North Carolina undergraduates. These meetings provide an excellent forum for students seeking admission to graduate and professional studies, visual and performing arts studios and theatres. Students’ experiences are empowering and confidence building, which provides them with skills necessary for success in the professional world. Please consider recommending student/faculty participation in your department or program. For additional information about SNCURCS and other presentation forums, please contact the PURC office (522-5787 or purc@uncp.edu).
