| Dr. Gary Mauk is an assistant professor in the Department of Professional Pedagogy and Research. Dr. Mauk maintains doctoral-level School Psychologist licensure through the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), as well as the Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credential. |

Ph.D in Psychology (with a child-adolescent development emphasis) from Utah State University
Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) School Psychology (with a specialization in children and adolescents who are deaf/hard of hearing)

| RESEARCH INTERESTS |
Dr. Mauk's pedagogical and research interests include: loss and grief issues among children and adolescents; child/adolescent psychosocial development and mental health; applied educational research and school psychology; early identification of hearing loss and provision of services to children who are deaf/hard of hearing; and educational grant proposal development.
He is an avid aficionado of 1970s-era music and the Pittsburgh Steelers. |
