In 2019, Chancellor Cummings appointed Dr. Mark Milewicz and Christie Poteet to lead the Strategic Planning and Resource Council (SPARC).
SPARC is charged with engaging in research and data gathering to inform the development of a strategic plan which will chart the course of the university for the next 5 years.
To develop the university's next strategic plan, SPARC is building upon the most recent strategic plan, as well as additional work found in the 2017-2018 BraveBook initiative on strategic planning. This BraveBook committee focused on documenting the alignment of the UNC System Strategic Plan (Higher Expectations), UNCP's strategic plan, the BraveBook, and subsequent individual unit plans.
