Joining a Fraternity or Sorority
In an effort to fully advance fraternal values at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, incoming freshmen will be eligible for the pursuit of fraternal membership as of August 15, 2007.
Please keep in mind that many Inter/National organizations require a minimum number of earned college credits, high grade point average, campus involvement in non-Greek organizations, as well as a proven commitment to values.
Groups Not Recognized By UNCP
The following organization has been suspended by UNCP, until at least 2017, due to risk management violations.
Pi Kappa Alpha (PIKE)
Please be advised that Epsilon Chi Nu Fraternity (sometimes referred to as “E Chi Nu”) is not a recognized fraternity at UNC Pembroke. Please be aware that it is not and will not be possible for any student to join the Epsilon Chi Nu organization at UNC Pembroke at this time. If a student has been told by anyone that he joined or started the process for joining an Epsilon Chi Nu chapter at UNC Pembroke this year, then he has been given inaccurate information. Any group of people that might represent itself to be part of Epsilon Chi Nu on our campus is not operating within the requirements established by UNC Pembroke for student organizations.
Accepting membership into an organization not eligible to have members due to the Group's suspension or withdrawal of recognition is a violation of the student code of conduct.
