The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, its students, alumni and friends will celebrate “The Spirit of Pembroke” at Homecoming 2014 on October 20 – 25.

There are a multitude of events during the week, including the annual Homecoming Parade on Friday at 4 p.m.through downtown Pembroke. Last year, there were more than 80 entries in the parade.

Few people get to put their mark on an institution the way Johnion Hunt has at UNC Pembroke. A digital art major, he designed one of the iconic images of the university – the nameplate of the student newspaper.

Dr. Jacqueline Glass Campbell, associate professor of history at Francis Marion University, will visit UNC Pembroke on Tuesday, October 28, for a presentation titled “North Carolinians Meet Sherman’s March.”

MetCon, Inc., has been named the general contractor for UNC Pembroke’s Entrepreneurship Incubator, the university’s most ambitious outreach project, which will house the university’s two business development units and nurture 8-12 new businesses.

UNC Pembroke’s RN-to-BSN program has been ranked fifth among Southern colleges and universities by Best Value Schools, an online rating service. The RN-BSN program is for registered nurses with an associate degree or diploma who desire to earn the baccalaureate nursing degree.
