The purpose of health promotion is to positively influence the health behavior of individuals and communities as well as the living and working conditions that influence their health. The health promotion track consists of courses that use evidence-based practice through a sociological lens to prepare students to promote health and prevent disease in individuals and communities. The curriculum is aligned with the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc (NCHEC) to obtain additional credentials through the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) exam.
