Kimberly Fuqua, a 2019 graduate, was a guest speaker of the Prospect High School Class of 1959 which recently celebrated the 60th anniversary of the graduation class.
Fuqua is the latest recipient of the Prospect High School Class of 1959 Scholarship for Study Abroad. The Lumberton native shared stories about her semester studying at Canterbury Christ Church University in the United Kingdom. Fuqua earned her degree in special education in May and has been accepted into the Institute of Public Affairs at Cornell University.
The scholarship allows students who are studying education to spend a semester abroad. Fuqua is the fourth student to receive the scholarship to travel abroad. At the reunion, the classmates raised $3,000 to add to scholarship.
