Organizations that promote medical tourism

Medical Tourism Association (MTA) (or Global Healthcare Organization)
A non-profit international, association consisting of international hospitals, insurance companies, healthcare companies, medical tourism companies. Based in West Palm Beach, Florida.  It has published Medical Tourism Magazine since 2008 and manages a related blog. 

European Medical Tourism Alliance (EUMTA)
A not-for-profit organization based in Hungary.  It represents the interests of key players in the European medical tourism industry, coordinates the activities of the industry and improves patient mobility, and the free choice of medical providers across Europe.

International Board of Medicine and Surgery (IBMS) 
An organization whose members include international physicians, surgeons, dentists, and other healthcare professionals. It connects patients and MTFs with international health care providers.

International Medical Travel Association (IMTA)
This is a body of international healthcare organizations currently based in Singapore. Its goal is to connect patients, healthcare providers, employers, insurance companies and insurance brokers. Branch offices in the US and Latin America will be set up soon.

Council on the Global Integration of Healthcare (CGIH)
A non-profit, tax-exempt global NGO. It aims to create a sustainable organization in medical tourism made up of those in the medical travel and globally health care industry.  Its goal is to build the largest and most comprehensive knowledge base for medical tourism and globally integrated healthcare.

 International Association for Medical Assistance to Travelers (IAMAT)
A non-profit organization set up since 1960.  It aims to advise travelers about health risks, the geographical distribution of diseases worldwide, immunization requirements, and to make competent medical care available to travelers.

U.S. Travel Insurance Association (UStiA)
An association of insurance carriers, third-party administrators, insurance agencies and related businesses engaged in developing, administrating, and marketing of travel insurance and travel assistance products.
