UNCP Scholarships

Study Abroad & Study Away Scholarships/Grants:

In order to be considered for a scholarship, please review all the requirements in the application. Complete the appropriate Study Abroad Application (or Study Away Application) online and pay your $50 application fee several days before the scholarship due date at the Cashier's Office. If you have any questions, email oge@uncp.edu. Make sure and review the Brave ASSIST online portal for UNCP scholarship opportunities.

Kyle and Sarah Carter Scholarship for Study Abroad

  • Recipients must have completed 60 credits by time of award review (junior status)
  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 overall
  • Awards are typically $100-$500 per student
  • Apply online via Brave ASSIST. Due: December 10.

Maynor Scholarship for Study Abroad

  • Applicants do not have to be members of the Esther G. Maynor Honors College to apply
  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students
  • Financial need is a criterion, which means students need to have completed their FAFSA
  • Complete the Study Abroad Program Cost Form.
  • Applications will be considered on a rolling basis as funds are available.

Blue Scope Steele Foundation Scholarship for Study Abroad or Study Away

  • Recipients must have completed 30 credits by time of award review (sophomore status)
  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 overall
  • Awards, through the Office of Advancement, are typically $200-$800 per student
  • Applications available using the link below. Due: December 10.

Blue Scope Application

Prospect High School Class of 1959 International Travel Fund Scholarship for Study Abroad

  • Recipient must: (1) demonstrate financial need; (2) be a native or current resident of Robeson County; (3) be a product of the Public Schools of Robeson County; and (4) commit to teaching in the Public Schools of Robeson County if a teaching position is offered to them
  • Student must be admitted to the teacher education program and have a minimum 2.80 QPA
  • Students must study abroad for a semester or year
  • Students must submit the Prospect High School Class of 1959 International Travel Fund Application for consideration. Due by: December 5 or April 1.

Deon Greene Memorial Scholarship for Study Abroad

  • Recipients of this award must be full- or part-time undergraduates majoring in Spanish
  • The student must maintain a 2.5 QPA
  • This scholarship will be awarded in the spring semester to help defray travel expenses for students enrolled in a Spanish class that includes study abroad
