About

A graduate of The University of Missouri and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, David Fricke joined the faculty of the UNCP School of Business in 2000.  Prior to joining UNCP, he had a financial career spanning more than twenty years, holding executive positions in Banking, Investment Banking and “Big 6” Consulting, as well as Financial and General Management in Manufacturing and Marketing.  He was a full member of a national derivatives exchange, and founded a money management firm. He has held securities registrations including Series 7, 63, 65, 3, Floor Broker, and multi-state insurance licenses.

Besides UNCP, David Fricke has served on the faculty of Baker University Graduate School (Overland Park, KS), the University of Connecticut (Storrs), the University of Connecticut (Hartford) and Central CT State University (New Britain, CT). At UNCP he developed many of the courses currently in the curriculum and currently teaches undergraduate courses in Finance and Economics, where he has been the recipient of the UNCP Outstanding Teaching Award. He maintains an active consulting practice to local small businesses and start up companies.  The Superior Court of NC recently recognized him as an expert witness regarding Prospective Financial Reporting and financial analysis.  Publication interests include Corporate Governance, Real Estate and novel methods applied to pedagogy.
