Microsoft will cease support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, after which Windows 10 will no longer receive security updates. We are committed to upgrading all Windows 10 PCs to Windows 11 by December 31, 2024. DoIT recognizes there may be special circumstances that require adjusting your specific date. On the date that the upgrade becomes available, users can manually trigger and initiate the windows update to Windows 11. Go to Settings > Windows Update > and select Check for updates. When prompted, restart to apply changes. The update can take 30-45 minutes to fully install.

If the user chooses to not update immediately, the update will be completed during the nightly maintenance window from 2 am to 6 am. Please leave your computer powered on and connected to the network overnight.
