The success of service-learning at UNCP depends on acknowledging and supporting faculty who lead innovative service-learning and civic engagement courses and developing advocates of service-learning in departments across campus. Faculty Fellows in Service-Learning inspire students in engaged learning, connect our campus to our community, and help other faculty integrate service-learning into their classes.
Faculty Fellows in Service-Learning
- teach at least one service-learning designated course each semester of their fellowship,
- participate in and provide professional development programs and individual mentoring in service-learning and civic engagement to colleagues in their department and school or college throughout the year of their fellowship and at a summer institute, and
- collaborate closely with the Director of Service-Learning in areas of program assessment, proposal of new service-learning courses and programs, and oversight of service-learning curricula.
