Annual Assessment DATA
Mary Livermore Library is dedicated to continuing the improvement of library services through regular assessment of all aspects of the Library. Therefore library activities, services, and facilities are evaluated each year via various statistical reports and user surveys. These evaluative instruments focus on library use and satisfaction, as well as user needs and library priorities. The implications of the statistics and the results of the surveys are carefully analyzed to make sure that the Library is adhering to the goals and objectives of its mission statement.
Sometimes the instruments will show that significant activities have occurred in some areas of the Library; in other areas there may have been no major occurrences/activities. The services and activities in the latter areas will have remained static. When a need is identified, the Library follows up to address the issues that have been identified.
Mary Livermore Library Annual Survey
Each year during National Library Week, Mary Livermore Library conducts a survey of faculty and students. These annual surveys focus on library use and satisfaction, as well as on user needs and library priorities.
The survey is an important event in the Library’s yearly calendar. It is a way for patrons to evaluate the Library’s performance and suggest improvement. In the past, the satisfaction surveys have been directly responsible for major changes to the Library’s operation, including extending hours of operation, increasing the number of laptops available for students, and influencing collection development.
