Join us for this year's Cosplay Parade, a vibrant showcase where everyone is invited to bring beloved characters to life through costumes and props. We invite cosplayers of all ages and abilities to show off their cosplay and have fun!
The Cosplay Parade will take place on Saturday, February 24 at 11 a.m. and while it is a "parade," there will be no floats or vehicles. All participating cosplayers will check-in at the Exhibit Hall, taking place in the University Annex. The parade route will be announced shortly.
Here at JusticeCon, we define a "cosplay" as any outfit or costume that embodies a character from a movie, television show, book, or video game, or that exemplifies a certain time period or fashion trend (e.g. steampunk, renaissance, fairycore, etc.). This can include fully-developed and crafted costumes, more casual renditions, and even Halloween costumes!
GUIDELINES
The following guidelines apply to those participating in the Cosplay Parade:
All ages are invited!
- We ask that our younger cosplayers (ages 0-12) are accompanied by an adult. The accompanying adult is encouraged to wear a cosplay, but is not required.
Appropriateness
- Costumes should be suitable for a family-friendly environment.
- Avoid overly revealing or explicit outfits. Use discretion in choosing costumes that respect the comfort levels of all attendees.
Safety First
- Ensure that costumes do not pose a safety risk to yourself or others.
- Prop weapons must be visibly marked as non-functional. Sharp edges, projectiles, or realistic firearms are strictly prohibited.
Respectful Representation
- Refrain from cosplaying as characters that perpetuate hate speech, discrimination, or cultural appropriation.
- Be mindful of the potential impact of your costume choices on different communities.
Accessibility
- Keep in mind the mobility and accessibility needs of all attendees when designing or wearing costumes.
- Avoid obstructive costumes or props that may impede the movement of others.
Consent and Boundaries
- Respect personal boundaries and ask for permission before taking photographs or engaging in physical contact with other cosplayers.
- Avoid any behavior that makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
Non-discrimination
- Our community celebrates diversity. Discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic will not be tolerated.
No Harassment
- Harassment of any kind, including but not limited to verbal, physical, or online, will not be tolerated. Report any incidents to event staff immediately.
