Graduate Program in Spanish Education
Welcome to the Graduate Program in Spanish Education! Our Master of Arts in Teaching: Spanish Education degree prepares qualified Spanish teachers to respond effectively to the educational needs of diverse K-12 learners.
Our program
- is affordable
- requires 30 credit hours
- offers core educator (and some pedagogy) courses in hybrid and online formats year-round
- offers Spanish content courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online (videoconference) formats year-round
- prepares students to pass the educative Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA), required for NC licensure
- culminates in a semester-long internship, which must be completed in a North Carolina school
Students who complete our MAT in Spanish (and who pass the required licensure exams) are eligible for certification through the North Carolina State Department of Education.
